"As
the fable goes, in early 2004, Sos Valvo & Lynchy were rejected
from their 3rd stint on Community Radio station SYN FM due to Lynchy’s
inability to not mumble... Sos’ addiction to Whizz Fizz and Valvo’s
annoying laugh killing several old people.
Ironically,
in the same week, Valvo’s dad won a camera in a raffle and The Shambles
TV show was born... but not out of a woman’s naughty bits.... as that
would be weird, and in all honesty - how would that even work?
Using forceps one would assume.
Since
premiering on C31 in Melbourne in 2004, "The Shambles with Sos Valvo
& Lynchy" has become one of C31’s highest rating programs ever and
is now aired right across Australia and in New York City (despite
having a cast, writing team, camera crew, catering truck and whatever
else of only three... which is probably why the show looks so terribly
terribly cheap).
In
June of 2005 the show recieved the ’Best Comedy’ and ’Best Director’
Awards at the 2nd Annual Antenna Awards, with the "THE SHAMBLES : BEST
OF SERIES 1 & 2" released onto DVD through Shock Records a few
short months later.
In
2006 the show returned for it’s third series across Australia where it
had the highest ratings spike of any show on the station (whatever that
means... we like to think it’s something sexual or some kind of cool
super power weapon) and featured guest cameos from the boys’ idols
Russel Gilbert, Tony Martin and Shaun Micallef.
In
October of 2006, the "THE SHAMBLES : BEST OF SERIES 1 & 2" DVD
became the first community TV show in history to be nominated for an
ARIA AWARD [2006, Best Comedy Release] which enabled the boys to get
drunker than they have ever been before.
November
of 2006 was big as it saw the release of both "THE SHAMBLES : SERIES 3"
DVD through Shock Records, as well as the first ever “SHAMBLES : GO
LIVE” stage shows.
From
2007 to present, Sos Valvo & Lynchy have performed sell out seasons
at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, recieving rave reviews
- including 2 "Whoopee Awards" (The Age Newspapers Comedy Festival
Awards) for MOST LIKELY TO BE PICKED UP BY COMMERICIAL TV GONG and
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION GONG.
Their
2009 self titled MICF Show recieved "4 Stars" by The Age and was named
as one of the top three shows in The Age's "Best Of The Fest" guide.
Other
group and individual credits for the boys include stints producing,
hosting and appearing on radio for Nova 100, SYN FM, JOY FM and RRR;
hosting C31 Melbourne’s THE BREAKFAST SHOW; writing for Channel Ten’s
“ROVE” and owing money for several unpaid parking fines.
